dc.description.abstract | This piece of work deals with the structures of communication of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cameroon (ELCC) during the years 1960 and 2003. Our topic is mainly based on the house of production Sawtu Linjiila, the Protestant printing house and on the Christian Literature broadcasting centre. These different structures were created in order to perpetuate the work of evangelisation undertaken in the Adamaoua province since the middle of the years 1920. The pioneers of this evangelisation were the American and the Norwegian missionaries.
Through this piece of work, we will lay emphasis on a distinctive study of these different structures of communication. This analysis will take into account different aspects such as their creation, their aims and their achievements.
Thus, the Sawtu Linjiila House of production was founded in 1966 by the N.M.S., the F.L.M. and the E.L.C.A. His purpose was to diffuse the gospel among the foulophone populations. This gospel involves the achievement of religious programs and social educational, all realised in foulfoulde language.
This study also deals with the social cultural impact of the above mentioned structures, in the Adamaoua province. The existence and the functioning of the structures of communication of the E.E.L.C. go with a certain number of consequences. We can mention among others the diffusion of christianism in a region where Islam is prevailing, the promotion of other local languages practised (used) in the printing works programs and also different religious documents meant for local populations. | |
